Spring Insticts Panels - sexual Dominant

  • Date: Monday, April 7, 2025
  • Time: 6:30-8:30pm CST
  • Location: Carondelet Center, 1890 Randolph Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55105
  • Presenter: Jeannine Myrvik, LICSW (She/Her)

This spring, Enneagram Minnesota will be hosting a series of three panels to explore the instinctual dimensions of the Enneagram. Within each of the nine types, there are three basic instincts that we all have - Self Preservation, Sexual (One-to-One) and Social. We all have all of these instincts - and as we grow, one becomes more dominant, one is secondary and one becomes less important and remains repressed. Understanding your instinctual sequence is key to personal growth.

Over the course of the three sessions, we aim to foster a clearer understanding of the instincts with examples from three different Enneagram types on a panel.  We will look at how the dominant instinct blends alchemically with our individual Type’s passion to form our Subtype, and how we can find pathways of growth through this increased awareness. We will dispel some common misconceptions and stereotypes about the instincts.

During each session, we will offer a brief teaching about each of the nine Subtypes for that instinct and moderate a community panel that will shine additional light on this important aspect of the Enneagram.

Jeannine Myrvik is a psychotherapist with over 25 years experience working in mental health.  She has a private practice in Mpls where she works with adults and couples. Throughout her career she has done individual and group work and led trainings and retreats.  Mindfulness has long been at the core of her work.   When she found the enneagram 7 years ago,  it felt like the perfect compliment to help deepen awareness and presence.   She credits the enneagram with the most important self awareness work she has done in her adult life.  Wanting to deepen her skills in this area, she completed Anne Muree’s Full Circle program and also recently completed the professional certification program through CPenneagram.  She has now added enneagram coaching and teaching to her offerings.  She is passionate about the deep healing and growth that comes from understanding and managing our type and remembering our essence.

Enneagram Minnesota is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
