The Path to Immortality: What Gurdjieff and Sufi Teachings Say About Higher Human Potential

When I first learned the Enneagram I was disappointed by my type, and even more disappointed to know that it doesn’t change. But when I started studying Gurdjieff, I became fascinated by the concept of Essence. I found a lot of inspiration through realizing that the personality isn’t the only option for us humans, and that the human can be much more. My interest in Sufi teachings led me to see that that both Gurdjieff and the Sufis were talking about the same thing. In this presentation I aim to correlate the Gurdjieffian & Sufi teachings about the The full potential of the human being which was referred to in Gurdjieff as “Man Becoming Immortal” and by Sufis as “Al-Insan Al-Kamil”. I also aim to present their perspectives about the human developmental process for spiritual growth and provide the attendees with practical steps inspired by both Gurdjieff’s fourth way & Sufi Schools. We will also do together a Sufi meditation at the end of the presentation inspired by the 99 names.

PRESENTER Bio

My name is Dina Elbadry. I am originally an Electronics and communications Engineer graduated in 2006, worked for Procter & Gamble for 10 years. Started studying Human development and Spiritual growth modalities in 2015. Qualified as NLP master Practitioner from INLPTA & IN, Master Coach from ICI, Enneagram accredited Teacher and Master practitioner from IEA Accredited School and program, Reiki Master practitioner from HDRA & Family and systemic constellations practitioner from CSC. I am an IEA Accredited Professional from the IEA since 2021. Worked as The Head Enneagram Teacher / Master Practitioner @ The Field of Awakening (IEA Accredited School & Program) for 3 years and taught over 3500 of Enneagram Practitioner content that is mainly specialized in the spiritual dimension of the Enneagram & Spiritual development through the Enneagram. for a year now, I founded The Enneagram Academy in Egypt. I am also Chestnut Paes Enneagram Academy Head Mentor worldwide and work as Staff member that works with the Academy in Africa and Europe both in collective work and in one to one individual work with the students. I Attended 5 IEA Conferences: Cairo 2019, Cairo 2022, Stockholm 2022 and San Francisco 2023 & Cairo 2024. She presented in Cairo 2022, And 2024 about Sufi Practices to relax Type Fixations and allow higher states of being & Presented in San Francisco 2023 in both the Discovery Track about Head Types & in The Main conference about The Path to Human Immortality from the perspectives of Sufis and Gurdjieff. I am a Type Six married to a Two, with two girls: A Six and a Three. So we are pretty much team head vs team heart at home :)
